Directors Cup Matches
The Directors Cup is a goodwill competition between the golf associations of Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska. It is staged every other year opposite the USGA's Men's State Team Championship and consists of round-robin Four-Ball, Foursomes and Singles matches. Each state is represented by eight players. Each match has three points available (one point for the front nine, one point for the back nine, one point for the overall match result).
The Kansas team is selected based on the KGA Player of the Year points list in the year that the Directors Cup is held. Junior age, senior age and collegiate golfers are not eligible.
The home team has won each of the four competitions held beginning in 2000.
Because the USGA has amended their Men's State Team Championship schedule to include tournaments in both 2009 & 2010, the Directors Cup will next be contested in 2011.
