Team Composition & Boundary

Top eight (8) available players from the East and West Squads (16 players total) from the 2016 KGA Mid-Amateur Player of the Year points list.

U.S. Highway 75 is boundary for determining whether a player is on the East or West team.  Cities that sit on Highway 75 are deemed to be on the East team (i.e. Topeka, Burlington, Holton, Independence).

Eligibility#12 - Lawrence Country Club

Qualifying is open to KGA mid-amateur age (25 to 49) golfers.  Must be a KGA member.

Entry Fee and Deadline

$105 ($230 for new players).  Entry is by invitation only.


Ryder Cup style format (Four-Ball, Foursome, Singles matches).

Match Pairings

Groupings and pairings for the matches will be determined using an open draft format with each team's captain.  This will be determined at the player's dinner following the practice round.

Player's Banquet

A player's only dinner will be held at the club following the practice round.  Information on this function will be passed on to qualifying players.

Player's Lunch

Lunch is provided on both days of the championship.  Practice round lunch is not provided.

Course Set-Up

The golf course will be set-up at approximately:
- 6,510 yards (all participants)

Practice Round

Practice round is included as part of your entry fee on Sunday, May 14th.  Practice round starting times will begin at TBA time.  The East Team will play first followed by the West Team.

Clubhouse and Practice Facilities

Clubhouse and practice facilities open one hour prior to the first starting time.  Practice facilities are for tournament contestants use only.

Defending Champions

The West Team of Grant Vollertsen, Tyler Chapman, Zac Burton, Jack Courington, Pete Krsnich, TJ Vilkanskas, Andrew King and Spencer Christian bested their counterparts from the East Team in 2016 at Prairie Dunes Country Club.

Carts, Spectators and Caddies

Carts are provided for all rounds of the championship as part of your entry fee.  Spectator carts will not be available for this championship.  Club caddies may be available.  Contact the host club to inquire.

There will be no registration at this event.  You are responsibile to be at your assigned starting tee at least five (5) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time.  This will give you adequate time to receive instructions and information from the Starter.

Close of Competition

The competition shall be deemed to have closed when the symbolic prize for the event has been presented, or if no ceremony, when all scores and results have been approved by the Committee.
