Entry Fee and Deadline
$135. Deadline for entry is Sunday, August 20th at 4:00 pm.
36 holes of individual stroke play with three age divisions. Champion to be determined in each division. The event may be shortened to 18 holes if weather cancels either round. Gift certificates from the host club will be awarded in amounts to be determined based on the number of total entries within each division.

All players will be paired in groups of three for all rounds and courses.
Round One Order of Play (by division): Determined by course starting schedule
Round Two Order of Play (by division): Senior, Masters, Open

As part of your entry fee, the KGA will provide lunch to all players during both rounds of the championship. There will be no Saturday evening players' dinner provided. Players that wish to have dinner/socialize at The Golf Club at Southwind on Saturday evening are more than welcome to do so. Please contact the KGA office (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information on making dinner reservations.
Please contact the golf shop at The Golf Club at Southwind at (620) 275-4080 to arrange a practice round. Practice rounds are complimentary on Friday, August 25th.
Clubhouse and Practice Facilities
Clubhouse and practice facilities open one hour prior to the first starting time. Practice facilities are for tournament contestants use only.
Garden City junior golfer Sion Audrain claimed his first KGA title at the 2016 High Plains Amateur at Southwind. Audrain posted rounds of 70-73--143 to finish two shots better than Garden City Community College golfer Dominic Pollock. In the Masters Division, Salina's Sean Robertson entered the winner's circle after edging Southwind member Eric Larsen by one shot. In the Senior Division, KGA veteran Michael Casamento of Wichita continued his hot summer of play with a victory in the 50 & over division. Casamento used rounds of 75-72--147 to finish three shots ahead of runner-up Fran Matthias of Topeka.
Carts, Spectators and Caddies
Carts are available at the expense of the player. Only two carts are allowed per starting time. Spectators and caddies are always welcome at KGA Championships. Spectator carts are available at the discretion and price set by the host club.

There will be no registration at this event. You are responsible to be at your assigned starting tee at least five (5) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time. This will give you adequate time to receive instructions and information from the Starter.
Scores from each round of this championship will be posted to the GHIN Handicap System using ESC (equitable stroke control).

Close of Competition
The competition shall be deemed to have closed when the symbolic prize for the event has been presented, or if no ceremony, when all scores and results have been approved by the Committee.
