This is the fourth time The Kansas Country Club has hosted the Kansas Amateur.  The previous years were 1981, 1995 and 2009.

The Kansas City Country Club, founded in 1896, is the third oldest country club west of the Mississippi River.  The club was originally located in Kansas City, Missouri, in what is today known as Loose Park.  In 1925, the club moved its course to the current location in Mission Hills, KS.  The course was designed by A.W. Tillinghast and later redesigned by Robert Trent Jones.
