Eligibility


Male amateurs age 25 or older as of October 2, 2017.  Must be a KGA member.

Entry Fee and Deadline

$165 (carts included).  Deadline for entry is Monday, September 25th at 4:00 pm.

Format

36 holes of individual stroke play with gross and net scoring.  Overall Champion to be determined.  The event may be shortened to 18 holes if weather cancels either round.  Gift certificates from the host club will be awarded in amounts to be determined based on the number of total entries within each division.

Divisions

Three age divisions with gross and net scoring:

  • 25 to 34
  • 35 to 49
  • 50 & Older

Practice Round

Lake Quivira Country Club is a private facility.  Practice rounds are available at the discretion and fee set by the host club.  Please call (913) 631-7577 to inquire about practice round availability.

Clubhouse and Practice Facilities

Clubhouse and practice facilities open one hour prior to the first starting time.  Practice facilities are for tournament contestants use only.

Defending Champion

Overland Park's Jeff Bell claimed his first KGA individual championship in 2016 at Firekeeper Golf Course.  Bell, a former Kansas University golfer, posted rounds of 69-71--140 to finish two shots head of KGA veteran Charlie Stevens of Wichita.  Topeka's Ben Moser and reigning Mid-Amateur Player of the Year Bradley Lane, Lawrence, tied for third place.

Carts, Spectators and Caddies

Carts are included for both rounds of the championship as part of your entry fee. Spectators and caddies are always welcome at KGA Championships.  Only two carts are allowed per starting time (three players per group).

Registration

There will be no registration at this event.  You are responsible to be at your assigned starting tee at least five (5) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time.  This will give you adequate time to receive instructions and information from the Starter.

Score Posting


Scores from each round of this championship will be posted to the GHIN Handicap System using ESC (equitable stroke control).

Lake Quivira Country Club accepts TBA for all purchases.

Close of Competition

The competition shall be deemed to have closed when the symbolic prize for the event has been presented, or if no ceremony, when all scores and results have been approved by the Committee.
