Membership

Membership in the Kansas Golf Association is open to organized golf clubs and golf associations in the state of Kansas. Individuals are members by virtue of their affiliation with a member club or association. If your club or association is not a member of the KGA, please contact our office to discuss the many benefits. The KGA has a variety of membership types for facilities and can help you get one started.

Individual Membership:

Any golfers who have their affiliation with a club or facility located in a bordering state or who are not residents of the state of Kansas. Upon approval and acceptance, members will be eligible to participate in any KGA sponsored championship. Individual membership must meet the following specification.

  1. Complete membership application
  2. Have a current GHIN number

Annual Dues of $50

The KGA annual club dues invoice is sent January 1 of each year.

The GHIN individual member dues invoices are sent out 4 times per year as follows:

  • April 15th - The first invoice for all Active golfers as of April 15, 2009.
  • June 15th - A net invoice for all golfers added since the last invoice and any unpaid balance.
  • August 15th - A net invoice for all golfers added since the last invoice and any unpaid balance.
  • November 15th - A final net invoice for all golfers added since last invoice and any unpaid balance.

Clubs will be billed for all active golfers on their handicap rosters as of April 15, 2009, for any golfer added during the season at the service type yearly rate. Clubs should clean up their rosters and transmit deletes/deactivates before February 28, 2009. The KGA policy is to inactivate the GHIN service for any club that is more than 45 days delinquent with a balance in excess of $100.00. A $50.00 reinstatement fee along with all past dues must be paid to restore the GHIN service.

The KGA Rate Schedule for 2009

$135.00 - Annual club dues for golf club or golf course that enrolls its active golfing members (Minimum of 25 and maximum of 99) as individual KGA members* at an annual fee as stated below. (This category includes golf clubs without real estate.)

$175.00 - Annual club dues for golf clubs or golf courses that enrolls its active golfing members (101 or more) as individual KGA members* at an annual fee as stated below. (This category includes golf clubs without real estate.)

* Individual KGA membership includes USGA/GHIN handicap service, tournament eligibility, a copy of the 3 Kansas Golfer magazines (only if the valid golfer’s address is included in the GHIN Handicap record), and other services provided to individuals

$500.00 - Annual club dues for golf club or golf course that have their handicaps computed by either the Kansas City Golf Association or other Golf Association. This will entitle golfers of these clubs, who are active on the GHIN service, KGA tournament eligibility.

The 2009 Individual KGA membership dues per golfer are:

Men's 18 or 9 hole handicap - Electronic Option handicapping (via computer) - $17.00

Ladies' 18 or 9 hole handicap - Electronic Option handicapping (via computer) - $9.00

Junior** - Electronic or Paper Option - $8.00

**Junior golfers are defined as golfers who have not reached their 18th birthday at the beginning of the golfing season (their birth date must be included in their Junior type golfer record). They will be automatically upgraded to regular membership following their 18th birthday.

The Kansas Golf Association, is dedicated to promoting and preserving the game of golf in the State of Kansas. Henceforth, the KGA has made a commitment to its current and future membership to improve the quality and quantity of services.

Organized in 1908, the Kansas Golf Association is a not-for-profit organization that governs amateur golf in the state of Kansas. In addition to conducting 15 championships for amateur golfers in the state, the KGA is responsible for administering the Kansas Junior Golf Association and KGA Senior Series programs. The KGA also maintains the USGA Handicap System, performs course ratings throughout Kansas and assists in other programs and scholarships.

Kansas Golf Association
