Firekeeper Golf Course - 2016 Champions
The winner of each division plus one (1) “wildcard” team will qualify for the 2016 Kansas Cup Playoffs. The Quarterfinal Round matches and host courses is detailed below. Tie breaking procedures to determine playoff qualifiers is detailed below. The Quarterfinal Round playoff matches must be played by September 14th.
Note: New in 2016, regular season divisional matches that end in a 4.5 to 4.5 point tie will count as a half point win when calculating total wins when breaking ties for playoff qualification to determine division winners, the wildcard playoff team qualifier and playoff bracket seeding.
BREAKING TIES FOR DIVISION WINNERS:
The team with the most overall wins (including ties) will be the division winner. If two teams in a division end up the regular season with the same number of division wins (including ties which count for a 1/2 point match win), the tie shall be broken based on the following criteria, in order of their application:

To determine the one (1) “wildcard” team that will advance to the playoffs, the “wildcard” team will be determined based on the following criteria, in order of their application:
DETERMINING SEEDS FOR PLAYOFF QUARTERFINAL BRACKET:
All teams in the playoffs shall be seeded, but in no event shall the “wildcard” team be seeded higher than a division winner. The “wildcard” team will be the #8 seed in the playoff quarterfinal match bracket. Teams will be seeded based on the following criteria, in order of their application:
DETERMINING HOST VENUE FOR PLAYOFF QUARTERFINAL ROUND:
Division winners will be bracketed and seeded #1 through #7 with the playoff quarterfinal match being hosted by the team with the better seed. The “wildcard” team will be the #8 seed in the playoff quarterfinal match bracket.

Following completion of the semifinal matches on Friday, September 16th, a buffet cookout with beverages will be provided to all contestants.
The two clubs advancing to the championship round of the Kansas Cup shall compete for the title at Wamego Country Club (Wamego, KS) on Saturday, September 17, 2016. Starting times begin at 9:00 am.

PLAYOFF MATCH TIED AFTER COMPLETION OF INDIVIDUAL MATCHES (IN PLAYOFFS ONLY):
In the event of a 4.5-point to 4.5-point tie at the conclusion of the nine matches, a playoff shall be conducted according to the following procedures and matches involved:
The Open (non-Senior) Singles Match players, the Senior Modified Chapman Match teams, and the Open Four-Ball Match teams. There will then be three matches played, each at sudden death starting from hole #1. This means there will be three points at stake in sudden death. The team that wins two points shall win the match. Note: all three sudden death matches must be contested against the same opponent. In the interest of time and as a convenience to the players involved, the sudden-death points may be contested prior to the conclusion of the remaining matches.
