KGA Junior Spotlight – Preston Fleenor

The Kansas Golf Association Junior Spotlight for the month of March is Preston Fleenor of Preston FleenorMission Hills, Kansas.

Preston’s parents are members of Milburn Golf Country Club where he developed his skills to become one of the top junior golfers in the Kansas City area. He won the 2012 KJGA Match Play Championship at Emporia Municipal Golf Course in July and he was a member of the 2012 Kansas Junior Cup team that retained the Virgil Parker trophy in the annual matches with Nebraska. Preston also won the 2012 AJGA Lockton Kansas City Junior and finished 10th on the junior player of the year points in 2012.

Best Course Played: Spyglass Hill. I really thought there was something special about every hole there.

Favorite Hole and why: 7th hole at Pebble Beach. It's short and easy enough for me

Greatest Golf Accomplishment: Winning the AJGA Lockton Kansas City Junior

What type of shot I like to play? Normally a small draw on about everything

Shot I get in the most trouble with: Playing a punch shot with a fairway wood

How much time I spend during the summer practicing: Normally around around 20 hours total practicing. If I'm not on the golf course, I'm normally at home catching up on rest or just hanging out

Mr dream foursome would be: Me, Jason Dufner, Rickie Fowler and Bubba Watson

Favorite tournament and why: I enjoy the Jones Junior Cup Invitational at Sea Island because the hospitality there is unreal

Golf tournament I would like to attend: The Masters, always the best tournament of the year

Favorite song on my iPod: It would have to consist between Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan
