Kim Richey transitions to position of Executive Director Emeritus

Lawrence, Kansas - Kim Richey, Executive Director of the Kansas Golf Association (KGA) since 1993, will transition into the role of Executive Director Emeritus, effective January 1st. Casey Old, KGA Director of Competitions in his 16th year with the association, has been appointed as Interim Executive Director for the 2018 Season.

Under Richey’s leadership of 25 years, the KGA has developed a reputation for its high level of professionalism in administering an extensive slate of over 80 golf competitions annually. Richey is a member of the United States Golf Association’s championship rules committee and has officiated multiple U.S. Opens, Big 12 Conference Championships, and many other national championships. The KGA Board of Directors thanks Mr. Richey for his 25 years of successful leadership.

Casey Old began his career as a USGA P.J. Boatwright Intern in June 2002. He is a 2002 graduate of the University of Kansas with a degree in Sport Management.  Old attended Allen County Community College where he was a member of the golf team in the 1998-99 season. Casey and his wife Kara, a junior high music instructor at Shawnee Heights School District, reside in Lawrence.

The Kansas Golf Association, founded in 1908 with headquarters in Lawrence, administers amateur golf tournaments and programs to over 12,000 male and female golfers in the state of Kansas.
