KGA Mid-Amateur Series
If it has been hard for you to get away from the office for KGA championships played over two or more days, then here’s a great way to play competitive golf on great venues at a reasonable price: The KGA Mid-Amateur Series. The KGA Mid-Amateur Series is open to KGA member golfers age 25 to 49.
For 2012, the KGA will offer one-day events to be played in conjunction with the KGA Senior Series. The schedule is listed below. There will be no cross-competition with the senior golfers. Golf shop gift certificates will be awarded based on the number of players participating. Mid-Amateur Player-of-the-Year points will be awarded and can be earned towards the KGA Mid-Amateur Player of the Year.
The entry fee is $70 per event. There is no minimum or maximum number of events required – just come and play!
Eligibility:
- Open to mid-amateur golfers age 25 to 49 years old on or before the date of any KGA Mid-Amateur Series event.
- Must be a member of a KGA member golf club (without regard to state of residence) OR a resident of Kansas with a golf club membership that maintains a USGA Handicap or equivalent.
- There is no minimum or maximum Handicap Index requirement.
- KGA Mid-Amateur Series event entry fee is $70 for each series event entered. This entry fee covers green fee, golf cart, range balls and a chance to win gift certificates. Practice rounds are not included as part of the entry fee.
- The entry deadline for each of the KGA Mid-Amateur Series tournaments is different and is approximately ten days prior to the event. The entry deadline is listed on each entry form and the master schedule on the KGA website address listed below. No late entries will be accepted. There are no walk-up entries.
- Competition for KGA Mid-Amateur Series Championship points will be conducted in one division. Competition is both gross and net scoring.
- The entire field will compete for both gross and net gift certificates. Players can win only one (1) gift certificate (gross or net) per event.
- Scores from each Mid-Amateur Series event will be posted to the GHIN handicap system using ESC (equitable stroke control).
- The approximate yardage for each Mid-Amateur Series event will vary depending on the host course, but the anticipated yardage will be 6,600-6,800 yards.
